2014 CPT Code Rate Updates Completed
New CPT and HCPCS codes went into effect on January 1, 2014. However, due to the federal shutdown, the states were delayed in receiving the new codes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The 2014 CPT codes were added to NCTracks on January 9. The State and CSC have since been actively engaged in the process of getting the policy and system aligned with the new codes, covered and non-covered, as well as the end-dated codes, to ensure that claims billed with the new codes will process and pay correctly.
The upload of edits and rates for the new codes was completed on March 9th.
Claims submitted from January 1 through January 8 with the new codes may have denied for “procedure code not on file. Providers can now resubmit those claims.
Starting January 9, claims billed with the 2014 CPT codes were pended for "no rate on file." Those pended claims will now be automatically recycled and will process, along with new claims, using the updated CPT codes. This process is also applicable to the Medicare crossover claims. No action by providers is required.
