Further Details on Update to Claim Submission for Drugs with Large Values

It was announced on March 20, 2020 that NCTracks will be able to accept and process claims with drug costs of $1 million or more per unit effective April 26, 2020.

However, although not originally noted, providers should be aware that the NCPDPD.0 Response Transaction will still not support dollar amounts greater than $999,999.99 in the Total Amount Paid (field 509-F9) and Ingredient Cost Paid fields.  As a result, NCTracks will truncate the amount reported in these fields when the amount exceeds $999,999.99. The actual amount paid will display correctly in all instances except the NCPDP response transaction, which cannot support payment amounts greater than $999,999.99.
