Non-Invasive Ventilator Rental Rate Update

Effective with a date of service of September 1, 2016, when prior approval (PA) requests for non-invasive ventilators (E1399 / W4047) are approved for rental under Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) guidelines for N.C. Medicaid recipients less than 21 years of age, the monthly rental rate allowed is $1,055.23. This rate change has been made to align with the current Medicare allowed rate. An invoice is not required for PA or claims adjudication.
