Effective April 30, 2020, NC Medicaid and the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services (DMHDDSAS), is temporarily modifying its Behavioral Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) Clinical Coverage Policies to better enable the delivery of care to NC Medicaid, NC Health Choice and State-funded individuals. Effective April 30, 2020, NC Medicaid and the DHHS Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services (DMHDDSAS) is modifying its Behavioral Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) Clinical Coverage Policies for (b)(3) services made retroactive beginning March 10, 2020. Effective March 10, 2020, skilled nursing facilities (SNF) are eligible for telemedicine visits and enables facilities to bill for facilities fees when a telemedicine visit is conducted by an eligible remote provider. More Information.
SPECIAL BULLETIN COVID-19 #80: NC Medicaid Temporarily Increasing Flexibility and Reimbursement Rates for Primary and Specialty Care Providers
Effective March 23, 2020 Clinical Coverage Codes for Telemedicine and Telepsychiatry specialty providers were retroactively made available to providers. NC Medicaid is also increasing reimbursement rates for telephonic visits and primary care medical home fees. More information.
