During this COVID-19 pandemic, many North Carolina dental providers have transitioned their practice to seeing emergency patients and may be using non-aerosolizing procedures for in-office care. On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., AHEC will offer a free webinar on interim dental guidelines and discuss approaches to maintaining our patients’ oral health while also limiting viral exposure through non-surgical caries management. The webinar, COVID-19 Guidance for Dental Professionals and NC Medicaid Non-Surgical Caries Management will conclude with information about the expansion of NC Medicaid and Health Choice covered silver diamine fluoride and fluoride varnish services. This webinar features national topical fluoride expert, Dr. Tim Wright, UNC Adams School of Dentistry, Dr. Sarah Tomlinson, State Dental Director, and both Darlene Baker, RDH, Lead Dental Policy Analyst, and Dr. Mark Casey, Medicaid Dental Director with the NC Division of Health Benefits.
