Confirmatory Drug Tests Denied When Presumptive Test is Performed

It has come to the attention of the Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) that definitive drug tests are being denied with EOB 58530 (Confirmatory drug testing not allowed in absence of an unanticipated presumptive test). Claims affected are those when the presumptive and definitive are performed on the same date of service. DMA is currently working on this issue and will post an update when it is resolved.
