ICD-10 Deadline Looming
October 1, 2015, looms less than a year from now: the day every provider who currently uses ICD-9 codes must switch to ICD-10.
If providers don’t switch to ICD-10, they won’t get paid, not from any private insurance company and not from Medicaid or Medicare. All HIPAA covered entities must prepare their business processes and software to make the switch to the federally mandated ICD-10.
The NCTracks team is finishing up several months of systems integration testing for ICD-10. Provider testing is expected to start in the spring with a group of providers selected to represent the diversity of providers that use NCTracks. More information on provider testing will come later.
To prevent a delay in your claims reimbursements, take the extra time to ensure your business and software vendors are ready for ICD-10. It’s less than a year away.
